How-to Make a Website?

Websites are very fun to make, and if done correctly, they can actually produce some extra money for you. Whether you’re just looking for a hobby or a side income, building a website doesn’t need to be hard. There are many different ways to make a site, some are challenging and take hours and hours of labor, and others take only an hour or two and are quite simple.
The first step in making a website is deciding what type of site you want. If you want a blog, or a place to share your opinions, I recommend using something like WordPress. If you want an actual store or online marketplace, then you’ll have to invest in some merchant software and services. If you just want a regular old content website, then your choices are pretty much limitless.
After you have chosen the type of site you want, it’s time to purchase the things that are required for any website: a domain and web hosting. As far as domains go, I highly recommend getting a .com domain, as they are much more professional, and better in general than any other TLD. Take your time when choosing a domain, too, as you want to find a domain that is memorable, and preferably short.
Once that’s done, you need to find some good hosting. There are literally thousands of hosts out there to choose from, so take your time. Try not to be fooled by the marketing schemes of low-quality hosts, and remember, just because a host is cheap doesn’t mean you should choose them. Read the rest of this entry »
